Pollença Splash-in - Baléares
Hi!
Although it was a bit of an experiment, the first splash-in at Pollensa bay, Mallorca, in September was a success. The weather was great, we had a variety of planes/helicopters, and 5.000 visitors! It was great to welcome participants from Como, Barcelona and Palma, and of course the Canadairs of our military hosts. The authorities of Pollensa, who took care of hotel rooms and meals for the pilots and their crew, were very enthousiastic too and encouraged us to repeat it in 2013.
So we decided to make this into a bi-annual project, scheduled for 2013, 2015 etc, alternating with the so much more famous Biscarosse event.
We have had very many positive reactions from the Seaplane community to our initiative, and many have indicated that if they would have known earlier, they would have come. So this time we are reaching out a bit earlier, to make sure that this event will become part of your seaplane event planning for next year.
However, before we start contacting all who have shown an interest, we would like to invite you, because you originally subscribed to our event or showed your interest, but could not make it. The point is that space on the ramp of the base is limited, and we will probably not be able to accomodate all that would like to come. So we would like to give you the first opportunity to indicate your firm intention to come.
The idea is to give you time until the 31st of December to confirm your attendance, on a first-come-first-serve basis. After that date, if there are still places left, we will start contacting the entire seaplane community.
Some key data:
-Event takes place 9-12 May 2013
-Hotels, meals and sightseeing of wonderful Mallorca for you and your passengers taken care of.
-Planes will be on-shore, fresh water facilities for rinsing available
-expect good weather! So bring sun lotion..
